On Monday, October 27th Mat, Claire and I took the Quoddy Link over to Meteghan, Nova Scotia to A.F. Theriault & Sons for the winter. The Quoddy is having some work done and there’s no where else we would rather have her than with the good folks that built her more than 30 years ago!
The 60 mile run across the Bay was an adventure, we left just as the sun was rising and made it over in just over 3 hours…that included a few short stops for a pair of fin whales not far from Swallowtail and some Atlantic white-sided dolphins that always put a smile on our faces. There was some wind and tide, especially at the entrance to Petite Passage that reminds of the power of the Bay of Fundy.
When we had the Quoddy out of the water I had the chance to visit with the Mega Nova, the boat of our dear friends and colleagues from Brier Island Whale and Seabird Cruises….to see Peajack (a much loved and missed Fundy humpback) painted on her bow had me almost in tears. We are proud charter members with Brier Island Whale and Seabird Cruises on the Bay of Fundy Whale Research and Conservation Society 🐳🐳
Cheers, Danielle

The Quoddy Link all hauled out in Meteghan, NS

Claire and I happy to be off the boat, LOL….it was an adventure and the crew at the shipyard were FANTASTIC

I took a quick moment to visit with the Mega Nova, the vessel for our friends and colleagues at Brier Island Whale and Seabird Cruises. To see Peajack painted on the bow was emotional, she was SO loved in Fundy and is deeply missed.

Thank for checking in,
I’ll be posting more soon to close out the season,
Cheers,
Danielle
