Good evening everyone, it was great to be back on the water for our first weekend of whale watching for 2021. Thank You to Claire and Rika for the updates this weekend.
SIGHTINGS UPDATE
Saturday June 19, 2021
Thank You to Claire for the report
For our first trip of the season we were able to find a minke whale, it took a bit of searching but had some good looks and he even rolled on his side for us! We also saw seals, some porpoise and eagles!

10am: This morning we were unable to locate a whale but it was a beautiful morning on the water, with good looks at a some seals and a trip to Whitehorse Island to check on the nesting seabirds.
1:30pm: This afternoon we headed out with low winds and stopped with harbour and grey seals at Black Ledge. We went up the coastline of mainland New Brunswick to Bliss Island Lighthouse then headed over to view Whitehorse Island. The greater black backed gulls and herring gulls were hanging out with cormorants and more seals! We saw a few guillemots fly by. We then headed down the coast of Campobello to Nancy’s Head where we found a minke. We turned around and followed this whale back up the coast of Campobello Island. We also got a few glimpses of harbour porpoise. We picked up a second minke whale on the way back to port.
Thank you to Nancy Vos Bartlett for sharing this video she took on June 20/21 on our afternoon departure.
Thank You to Rika and Claire for the updates today,
Check back in this week for more daily sightings,
Cheers,
Danielle
