SIGHTINGS UPDATE
Saturday August 1, 2020

10am: This morning we stopped with harbour and gray seals off of Black Ledge. We headed off towards the Wolves Islands where we caught glimpses of a Mola mola and a basking shark, our first basking shark of the season! We picked up a minke whale just off of Mill Cove, Campobello and then headed up along the island, where we saw bald eagles soaring above the trees then made our way back to St. Andrews.

1:30pm: This afternoon we headed out in beautiful weather and started views of harbour and gray seals at Black Ledge. From there, we headed towards Bliss Island, where we spent some time with a minke whale. After stopping with some birds at Whitehorse Island we headed in the direction of Grand Manan and along the Campobello shoreline. We picked up another minke whale just off of Nancy’s Head and got a few more looks before we had to head home.

5pm: This evening we had a special birthday charter. We stopped with seals on Black Ledge, swung by Whitehorse Island to see the nesting seabirds, and watched many porpoise and gulls feeding. We saw two minke whales, and 3 bald eagles; two of the eagles took off together after pooping! What a beautiful night!
