Good evening everyone, another great day on the water with minkes and a fin whale. Here are the sightings from today
SIGHTINGS UPDATE
Thursday July 11, 2019
10am: This morning we started our trip off with seals at Black Ledge and an eagle on the marker. We then made our way over towards Whitehorse Island and quickly picked up a minke before we could even check out the nesting seabirds. We did get a look at the gulls before we made our way over towards Head Harbour. We were searching to see if we could find a finback, we found 2 more minkes and decided to make our way towards the Grand Manan Channel. With some keen eyes we picked up a blow and found the finback we were looking for! We got some great looks as we stayed with the whale as it travelled up towards Head Harbour Island before making our way back to St. Andrews.
1:30pm: This afternoon we check out the seals at Black Ledge and headed over towards Head Harbour and quickly located the same fin whale from this morning. We got some great looks before moving over to look at a minke and Dani spotted a shark, a porbeagle! The shark surfaced a few times and we all able to get some quick looks. We checked out the nesting kittiwakes on Whitehorse and spent some more time with the fin whale before making our way back to St. Andrews.
THANK YOU to everyone who joined us today!
Cheers,
Danielle
