Hello everyone. We are 2/3 of the way through July and the season has been wonderful so far. The minke whale sightings have continued to be excellent and there has been an increase in the number of harbour porpoise in our area over the past week. This past weekend we saw our first blue fin tuna of the season which indicates an increase in the feed in the area. We also are seeing some small groups of Bonaparte’s gulls arriving, seeing them more in Western Passage right now.
We are hoping we will be seeing the larger whales, fin whales and humpbacks soon, we have had a few fin whale sightings but nothing with any consistency.
Here are some pictures and video from the past week.
