Hello everyone,
It has been a great start to our 2025 season.  We are seeing whales, mostly minkes but we have had a few fin whale sightings and when the weather is good we do search further offshore to see what we can find.
The seal numbers have been great this year with both harbour and grey seals at multiple haul out sites in our area.  We are seeing large numbers of razorbills and murres, including a few father/chick pairs as well.  We have even had a few puffin sightings during our whale watches. Yesterday we saw an increase in harbour porpoise in Head Harbour Passage as well.
The weather has been quite typical for this time of the season with many foggy days but a bonus of whale watching out of St. Andrews if it’s foggy is it often clears in Head Harbour Passage first and we have been seeing minke whales in the Passage.
