Hello everyone! I just wanted to share this video of the mom and calf finback whale pair that we have been seeing for the past few weeks. I shot this yesterday on our evening departure, I hope you enjoy…..it was such a beautiful evening.

I also wanted to share some very exciting news from the New England Aquarium North Atlantic right whale photo ID team….they have spotted both Resolution and Catspaw in the Bay of Fundy. Catspaw is the female North Atlantic right whale who was caught on camera giving birth, it was actually the first time ever that anyone has seen a North Atlantic right whale giving birth. It happened on January 1, 2005 off the coast of Florida. Her calf was named Resolution for obvious reasons! I have included a bunch of links below if you want to read more about Catspaw, her story and her calves.- Resolution Sited in the Bay of Fundy! The Story of Resolution’s BirthHigh Resolution Pictures from the BirthBackground on Catspaw and her CalvesWith all of this talk of right whales don’t forget to make your reservations for our special trip out to search for the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale happening on August 30th at 7:30 am.
